Can Cau and Bac Ha Markets are both very well known. On this Sapa Motorbike trip, you will have the opportunity to visit one of the smallest local markets and the largest ones in the same area. They are also both very colorful by Flower Hmong minority as well as others such as Phu La, Black Dao, Tay and Nung. The market provides a variety of local products such as corn wine, handicraft as well as an interesting animal market. You will also enjoy a short ride to Ban Pho village of Nung and Flower Hmong and a boat ride up stream Chay River.

After having breakfast at hotel in Sapa, you will start riding motorbikes to Bac Ha, which is 100km Northeast of Sapa. The ride is relatively flat from Sapa to Bao Nhai, where you will be taken through rural area. Situated in the mountains in border area, 20 km from Bac Ha, Can Cau is a small, but very colorful market. Opening only on Saturdays, it always delivers a very photogenic display of Flower Hmong, Black Zao, Phu La ethnic costumes. Chinese people also come for trading. After spending the whole morning exploring the market, you will leave the market for a motorbike ride to Bac Ha town for lunch.
In the afternoon, you will take a short motor-ride to Ban Pho village of Nung and Flower Hmong, which is located in a small valley. The villagers grow vegetables and fruit trees. One of the most famous fruits of the area is plum. You will be able to visit a local house, where you might have the chance to taste a cup of corn wine, another famous product of the village. You will go back to your homestay late in the afternoon and then have dinner with the locals in the village.

Day 2 (Sunday): Sapa Motorcycle Tours to Can Cau and Bac Ha Markets : Bac Ha Motorbike Tours to Trung Do – boat trip to Coc Ly – Lao Cai (L)
After having a morning coffee, you take a short motor-ride to visit the old castle of the former Hmong King. From there you can have a view over the town. You will then visit the huge market of Bac Ha with its colorful array of ethnic minority people such as Flower Hmong, Phu La, Black Dao, Tay, Nung who gather to buy and sell. After spending the whole morning exploring the market, your lunch will be served in a local restaurant.
After lunch, you drive your motorbikes downhill for about half an hour to Trung Do village, which belongs to the Tay minority. Here you can visit a traditional Tay house, before getting on a boat. You will have a cruise upstream the Chay River to experience the picturesque scenes on the river banks. You will then cruise down stream to the Bao Nhai Bridge, where you get on the bikes for the journey back to Lao Cai.

Stick to the basics… ride on the right side of the road, keep your eyes on the road and be alert. People often say “when you’re in ROME, just do like Romans do”. Riding a motorbike in Vietnam is different from driving in Europe or North America, so even if you stick to the rules, 99% chance the locals next to you won't. So be alert and stay safe! You can just obtain our Vietnamese driving license once you’re long-term officials working & living in Vietnam under the business visa within 6 months or more. But if you are just regular travelers having short-term tourist visa, this seems to be impossible.
